OUR ORGANISATION

Rainforest Conservation Foundation exists to raise awareness of the importance of conservation, reforestation, and the protection of land in and around the Daintree region and the at risk rainforests in Far North Queensland.

Established in 1996 as the Australian Rainforest Foundation and renamed in 2020 as Rainforest Conservation Foundation (RCF), RFC is an Australian not-for-profit focusing on large scale revegetation and extension of rainforests in Far-North Queensland.

Our core focus is to save at risk rainforests, to restore critical corridors of rainforest affected by clearing, and ensure their long-term protection with Nature Refuge Covenants.

Using seedlings propagated in our nurseries, areas in and around the Daintree have successfully been reforested using our seed foraging methods and planting techniques. These reforestations have restored the natural habitat of many of Australia’s wildlife species.

There is more to the Daintree Rainforest than just trees. It is an ecological wonderland. The variety of habitats within the Daintree makes it one of the most complex and ancient rainforest ecosystems on Earth. And this is why RCF continues to find new and innovative methods to ensure the long-term restoration of the rainforest.
