One of Australia’s foremost specialists in Australian plants, Peter is highly respected in his field and the Far North Queensland community. 

A regular guest speaker for the ABC Gardening TalkBack show, Peter is also a renowned botanical author, writing several books including Growing Australian Tropical Plants (1993) and Native Plants for North Queensland (1990).

He established the Yuruga Nursery, a specialist plant nursery, on the Atherton Tablelands in 1985 and has introduced more than 1,800 different Australian plant species to horticulture, with most of the species grown from Northern Australia, specifically North Queensland.
